To ensure all children are supported to access the opportunities and support they need to be successful in life. The service endeavours to be preventative & is provided early in life before situations & issues escalate.
Many parents need help, friendship, advice or support, particularly during those early years when children are young. There is no rulebook for raising a family and sometimes it can seem overwhelming, particularly when families go through difficult times.
But if families can get the support they need when they need it, then day-to-day family life and children's futures can be so much brighter.
Our service works in the following areas:
Providing 1-1 support for families during ante-natal and early post-natal periods to ensure healthy pregnancies, good emotional well-being, strong attachments, support for breast feeding and the home learning environment.
Secondary: Support for young people in the transition during the important first year of high school, support with learning in/out of school, support to access/engage with positive activities, support to access higher education.
Providing access to a range of volunteering opportunities to enable people to become more confident, build self esteem, supporting them into further education/learning and employment.
Volunteering opportunities include - family support, buddying/mentoring for children and young people, help with school work, reading, literacy/numeracy, administrative/office work, information technology, fundraising, marketing and promotions.
