Helping families so that they can spend more quality time with their child(ren) going through a cancer/blood disorder/Bone Marrow Transplant journey!
Our foundation was formed out of a need that we saw through Blair’s journey!
Your donation dollars are put towards helping us to achieve our mission and goals of helping families so that they can spend more quality time with their child(ren) going through a cancer/blood disorder/Bone Marrow Transplant journey!
Our foundation consists of all volunteers with no paid employees so you can be assured that your donation dollars are used to help the families who need it!
We rely on Corporate and personal donations along with fundraisers put on with our group of volunteers which include
Hospital personnel with Minneapolis Children’s and the U of MN Amplatz Children’s will make referrals to Blair’s Tree of Hope Foundation for the families who meet the criteria that we have set forth. This procedure is done by the hospital submitting our standard application to us for board approval and processing based on need. Items that we provide to the families could be a Super America Gas Card, a Target Gift Card, A Grocery Card, A Housecleaning, Family Photos, A Monthly Parking Permit for the parking ramps at the hospitals!
Weekly we take to Minneapolis Children’s and the U of MN Amplatz (rotating schedule) Snacks, toiletries, Magazines (current) lip balm and during holidays we bring special treats. We bring cards that parents can come in and take (Happy Birthday Card and so on) and we receive packets of cards that are made by groups to bring to the kids (HOPE cards) packets of puzzle books and playing cards.
Monthly Events are held at the U of M Amplatz Children’s Hospital – Scrap-booking, card-making, making bracelets and for the holidays we bring crafts that apply accordingly in the resource center on the 1st floor and everyone is welcome to join us! We have a door prize drawing at the events where we give Quilts that are given to us by the Maple Grove Quilters and other groups like Girl Scout Troops!
Thanksgiving Day we serve all of the families, doctors, nurses and all other staff a homemade dinner that is catered and served by Jim Wagner of Wagners along with board members of Blair’s Tree of Hope Foundation and other volunteers!
We hold Bone Marrow Drives as often as we can and are proud to share that in the past two years we have found 4 matches. https://www.facebook.com/BeAHeroBecomeADonor
BTOH also donates to fundraisers that our families host to raise funds – items that we have donated are the quilts we receive, our “Hope” basket and a scrapbooking basket.
Thank you for helping us to Help Other People Everyday! HOPE
