Our mission is to be one of the leading providers of support services for bereaved children and their families throughout the UK in order to help children find ways out of the abyss of grief.
Grief Encounter is one of the UK’s leading child bereavement charities providing pioneering services and support to bereaved children, young people and their families. Their vision is that every bereaved child and their family receives the best quality information, advice and counselling to help alleviate the pain caused by the death of a parent or sibling.
The impact of the death of a Mum, Dad or sibling on children is insurmountable, leading to social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in later life. Grief Encounter helps families address difficult issues such as death and help make sense of the confusion, helping children to deal with grief more effectively. Above all, Grief Encounter is instrumental in identifying and offering the means to navigate out of grief.
The charity offers support to over 500 bereaved children and young people every week throughout the UK. Proceeds from this auction will benefit direct intervention work, which consists of the ‘Family Programme.’ This includes one-to-one counselling from a certified specialist grief counsellor. Other direct services include: workshops, grief relief kits, residential camps and family days.
